Dear readers, have you ever had a forgotten memory shape your creative work? While writing The Cosmic Caretaker, I unknowingly channelled Wordsworth’s famous line “trailing clouds of glory do we come / From God, who is our home.” Years ago, I studied this poem as a sixth-former, and though I’d forgotten its source, the image must have nestled in my subconscious! When I wrote about Tilly leaving the astral plane to become an earthly child, I was echoing Wordsworth’s vision of souls carrying divine beauty into human existence. Isn’t it fascinating how memories guide us? This theme of buried memories runs throughout my book—pick up a copy and see if you can spot other literary ghosts that might be haunting my prose!
