The Stewart Report

In 2000, a group of experts in the UK wrote a report called the “Stewart Report.” They said that children are exposed to electromagnetic waves, like those from mobile phones, wireless headset , for longer periods than adults. This is because their bodies and brains are still growing. Also, children’s bodies have more moisture and different types of particles, which means their heads absorb more of the energy from these waves than adults do.

Because of this, the experts suggested that children should only use mobile phones when it’s really needed. They also said that mobile phone companies shouldn’t try to get children to use their phones. This report made people all around the world think about how safe it is for kids to use wireless devices.

Research indicates that children should have limited Wi-Fi usage, never have Wi-Fi in the bedroom , and when allowed a mobile phone, should never carry it in a pocket or on their person. They should use speakerphone instead of putting the phone next to their ear (a clear pathway to the brain) and try to use wired internet rather than-Wifi Interactive technology . Gaming should be discouraged unless it is wired tech. It is known that interactive technology and close proximity Wi-Fi or a an iPad screen can affect child’s sleep. Passive technology such watching TV for half an hour before bedtime does not affect sleep ( unless you let them watch a scary film!)
