March Focus: Embracing Meditation and Neurodivergence
Spring is just around the corner, and with it comes a fresh start. In therapy, we often explore how change can be both exciting and challenging. If you’ve been feeling a little stuck, or if you’re considering making a positive shift in your life, now is the ideal time to reflect on your goals and intentions.
At Ange Anderson Therapeutic, we specialize in supporting parents and professionals by providing resources on various therapies and technologies aimed at helping neurodivergent children. While our focus is primarily on children, adults can also benefit from the tools and strategies we share.
This month, we’re focusing on the transformative power of meditation, particularly for neurodivergent individuals.
Do You Feel Overwhelmed by Constant Anxiety or a Loss of Control?
As a neurodivergent individual, do you often feel like your brain is stuck in fight, flight, freeze, or appease mode? Perhaps you struggle with anxiety or depression, feeling like you’re constantly dwelling on the past, unable to find peace or grounding in the present moment.
If this sounds familiar, it might be time to take a step back and reclaim control over your mind and emotions through meditation. Meditation can be a powerful tool to help you navigate these challenges and bring balance to your life.
How Meditation Can Help You Find Peace and Calm Amid Chaos
In “Meditation and Neurodivergence: A Meditation Notebook Supporting Neurodivergence”, I guide readers through the unique challenges and blessings of being neurodivergent while utilizing meditation techniques to enhance their lives. Meditation isn’t a one-size-fits-all practice, especially for neurodivergent individuals. In this guide, you’ll learn how to tailor meditation techniques to suit your individual needs, from managing hypersensitivity to coping with hyposensitivity. With simple breathing techniques and the creation of a safe, calming environment, you can train your brain to trigger its natural calming response.
What You’ll Learn in the Meditation Notebook:
• Take charge of your meditation practice to meet your unique needs.
• Ground yourself in the present moment to reduce anxiety and stress.
• Learn how to meditate effectively, even if you’ve struggled to find a starting point in the past.
• Develop instinctual techniques that help you navigate stressful situations with ease.
• Write down your thoughts, insights, and reflections in the beautifully designed notebook, fostering a deeper connection to your practice and personal growth.
By making meditation a daily habit, you can start to see real improvements in your emotional regulation, mental clarity, and overall well-being.
